The Cottage Self Catering Accommodation, Deanscales, Cockermouth

Welcome to Cumbrian Getaways and The Cottage, situated in the lovely quite Hamlet of Deanscales, which sits approximately 3 miles outside the historic town of Cockermouth. The building was originally the Meal House (holding the animals winter feed), which formed part of Graysondale, when it was a working farm.

The Cottage is warm and cosy and has been equipped to the highest standard. It is filled with designer items such as Denby Stoneware, Judge kitchenware, Dorma/Walters & Noble bedding, luxury Egyptian cotton towels and dressing gowns, Samsung TV, basically everything you could wish for in a high grade self catering cottage.

One of the feature’s of The Cottage is the bespoke hand-crafted work carried out by local craftsmen which includes, solid oak doors, skirting boards, headboard, and bunk beds. Together with wrought iron bannister and matching curtain rails.

Possibly the most popular part of Graysondale is the grounds in which The Cottage sits. Not only does the property have its own patio area, it is surrounded by approximately 3 acres of woodland and gardens. Younger guests may also enjoy playing in the Martin family’s secret playhouse or on the oversized climbing frame, swings and slide.

Also, we have our own local pub, the Postings House, which is re-knowned for its number of tea-pots and the foods good too! We have Willow Man – Phil Bradley, who does regular workshops and he loves people to put there head around the door and have a chat. Then there is Chris Billinge, who you can hire to take you on guided walks to either explore the local are or any part of the Lake District.

Sharon and Peter also own the Marina Apartment, situated in the historic town of Whitehaven on the Marina front overlooking the towns harbour, just 10 miles south west of Deanscales. The Marina Apartment can be viewed on www.cumbriangetaways.co.uk.
